PUHSD is dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment for our students and staff, and this section of our website is intended to provide a central place for accurate and timely information.

Public Health Guidelines

Just as we have done throughout this pandemic, PUHSD will continue to follow all legal requirements and public health guidelines, as these serve as directives to California schools. The current and applicable guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Riverside University Health System- Public Health (RUHS-PH) are listed below.

Masking Requirements

According to CDC, guidance listed above, recent evidence indicates that in-person instruction can occur safely without minimum physical distancing requirements when other mitigation strategies (e.g., masking) are implemented. This is consistent with recent CDPH K-12 School Guidance. As a result, all students will be required to wear masks at all times when indoors. Staff working in spaces occupied by students will be required to wear masks indoors as well. Masks will be optional outdoors.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is requiring face masks to be worn in all indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status. This new requirement will be in effect for the next eight weeks (December 15, 2021 through February 15, 2022).
