Welcome!
My name is Heather Dudziak. I am the ceramics teacher at Paloma Valley High School. I have taught ceramics for the past 7 years here at Paloma and haven’t stopped smiling since!
I absolutely love making art, specifically working with clay and making functional pottery. 25 years ago I was hypnotized by the potter’s wheel and have built my life and career around it. My work demonstrates the functionality of clay while pushing the limits with the specific clay body used. I use my knowledge of glaze chemistry to enhance the surface texture created on each piece and enjoy playing “mad scientist” with new color combinations.
I received my BFA with a concentration in ceramics from Cal State San Bernardino in 1999 and received my Masters in Education from University of Phoenix in 2012. I have been a member of the National Art Educators Association and California Art Educators Association since 2010 and make every effort to continue my love of learning and passion for fine art.
I have lived in Lake Elsinore with my husband and our 2 children for the past 13 years. When I am not sitting at my potter’s wheel, I apply my art education in every aspect of my life, from decorating my Christmas tree to designing a succulent garden in my backyard. Outside of my art world, I am very much a dog person and enjoy spending time training and caring for our bullmastiff.
This year I will be using Google Classroom as the learning management system for my ceramics classes.
