Hello!
My name is Mr. Cooper. This is my 26th year with Perris Union HSD, most of which has been spent at Perris High School. My educational background is in history and social sciences with a heavy emphasis on the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. I received my Bachelors Degree and teaching credentialing through the University of California Riverside, I then got my master in Educational Administration through Azusa Pacific University as well as taking class through Point Loma University and Stanford University. This school year my assignment includes four sections of World History, a section of AP Human Geography and a section of U.S. History. In addition to my teaching assignments, I currently serve as an assistant coach for the baseball program.
2022-2023 Class Information
Every class ha a Canvas page which the students can access through their school google accounts. The Canvas page for every class has all assignments that are given in class located in the assignments section. If they miss an assignment due to an absence, they may look at this section to find the assignment for the day and do it. All classroom lectures and presentations are also located on the Canvas page in the Modules section if they miss a day or need a refresher. All classes also have access to a textbook which has been given to the students to take home as a reference source to assist them when needed for studying for test and quizzes. Reading assignments that coincide with the topics being taught during a particular week are posted in the classroom and also on the Canvas Pages assignment section.
With the exception of AP Human Geography, all tests and quizzes are also done on the Canvas Page. Due to the nature of the Advanced Placement (AP) Courses and the use of release questions from previous AP tests to get the students used to the types of questions they will see on the AP Exam in May, I will be giving these students test and quizzes in a traditional paper and pencil format.
