Welcome!

My name is Melanie Yates (formerly Woodard). I have been an educator at Perris High School since 2007. Currently I teach AP European History and AVID 10. I am also the credit recovery lead for the Plato program, as well as the AVID Co-Coordinator. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from UCSD in 1995. I have a Master of Education Specializing in Cross Cultural Education from National University, and I almost have my Master of History completed. I was Perris High's and Perris Union High School District's Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year. I have been a member of the negotiations team for the Perris Secondary Educators Association (PSEA) since 2015, and I currently serve as PSEA's Executive Board Secretary.

This school year I will be using Canvas as the learning management system for both AP Euro and AVID.
