My name is Mr. Aguilar and I am the SEAS (Social Emotional Academic Support) teacher at Pinacate Middle School (PMS). I teach both 7th and 8th grade students in a self contained classroom and instruct in multiple subjects which include: Language arts, Math, History, Science, and Electives.
About me:
I grew up in East Los Angeles and have worked in education since 1997. I filled many positions as an educator, from being a para-professional, bilingual aid, campus security, office clerk, to a lead counselor for an after school program. I graduated with a bachelors degree in History and minor in Central American Studies from Cal State University Northridge. After receiving my bachelors, I began working as a behavior interventionist for 8 years, until I decided to go back to school to receive my credential and masters in education from Azusa Pacific University. Since then, I worked as a substitute teacher for 2 years in both middle and high school levels, until I got hired to teach SEAS at PMS.
My hobbies include but are not limited to:
Hiking, Kayaking, bike riding, and working out. I enjoy playing the guitar, drums, or experiment with new instruments. I like to read historical non-fiction books, draw, paint, and write poetry.
I am looking forward to another school year at PMS and want to welcome you to my classroom.
