Hi! My name is Malaka Mallery and I've been teaching math for 7 years (6 years at Tahquitz High School in Hemet this is my first year at Heritage High School). This year I will be teaching Algebra 2, and Computer Science Discoveries.
I earned my bachelor's in Mathematics from Cal State San Bernardino before I began my teaching career in 2015. Later in 2020, I earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. In college, I developed a strong passion for learning and teaching mathematics. I hope that my passion for mathematics is felt by my students and that I inspire them to want to pursue math as well in the future. I can't wait to meet you all and work with you this year.
I will be using Canvas to post class information such as: Notes, Assignments, Assessment feedback, and Calendar
Desmos, Math XL, and Study Guides will be used to practice for and take Quizzes/Tests.
I am also one of the advisors for the Black Student Union (BSU) and a teacher representative for African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC).
