English Two: Fall 2020
AP Literature and Composition: Fall 2020
Dual Enrollment: English 101: Fall 2020
Hello Everyone and Welcome to the 20-21 School Year!
I am very happy to be working with all of you. I have been teaching English for more than two decades. I spent the first seven years of my career working for Long Beach Unified School District at the middle and high school levels before leaving Redondo Beach with my husband and daughter to move inland to Temecula. Moving from the ocean has been an adjustment (for someone who had never used an air conditioner), but I am finally calling this home.
I am starting my seventeenth year at Paloma Valley High School where I will teach APLiterature&Composition, EnglishTwo, and English 101 and 103, as part of the Dual Enrollment program with MSJC . I have also taught AP Language and Composition, American Literature, and Journalism and started The Prowler newspaper more than ten years ago. My Bachelor of Arts degree is in Journalism with an English minor. I earned my Single Subject Credential in English, my Master’s degree (MS) in Education with a specialty in Curriculum and Instruction. My second Master’s degree (MA) is in English.
I have also been teaching English 101 and English 103 at MSJC for eight years. I have taught both face-to-face and online classes. I earned my Master’s of English in an accelerated online program while representing Paloma Valley’s English Department as Chair. It was a tremendous experience.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family and friends. Over the last three years, I have had the opportunity to travel to Greece, Italy, England, Spain, and France. My family and I still spend lots of time at the beach. I love film and reading. And I am an avid Yogi.
I wish all of you an excellent school year. I will see you on Canvas. We are in this together!
