This will be my 23rd year of teaching as a full-time teacher, and my 14th year with PUHSD at PLHS.

However, to get here: I was born in Iowa and moved to California by age 5. I grew up, and graduated High School, in Redlands. During my senior year in HS I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and spent 6 years before being honorably discharged.

When I began my teaching career, it started in the Pomona Unified School District, at Diamond Ranch High School. I taught there for 9 years teaching Business, and Computer based elective courses such as: Computer Programming; Web Design; Game Design; Computer Applications; etc...  To help build better relationships with students, I was actively involved with a number of student lead clubs, such as: Club 180 (Christian/bible Club); Habitat for Humanity; Gaming Club; and, Computer Programming.  Additionally, I've enjoyed helping other clubs as well.

With my background in teaching and education in computer sciences (degree in Computer Programming and was working towards my Masters in Software Engineering), Behavioral Science, and Masters in Education, Perris Union High School District thought I would be a good fit.  When hired, I was given the opportunity to work a Perris High School or Perris Lake HIgh School.  For a new experience and to go where I felt I could have a positive impact, and for the challenge, I chose Perris Lake High School. I've been blessed because of this decision.

At Perris Lake, I've taught a variety of courses similar to what I was teaching at Diamond Ranch High School. But, I've added to my list of courses taught: Graphic Arts; Game Programming; Credit Recovery using A+; and now, Credit Recovery using Plato/Edmentum software. Additionally, I've had the honor of helping with the Leading Lights Bible Club, as an advisor, for the past 12+ years.

It has been a great career with many memories of the thousands of students I've had the pleasure to get to know.
