Hi students and parents, my name is Ray Gregory.  I have been teaching High School Mathematics for 31 years with the last 11 of those years at Heritage.  I have taught AP Calculus for 16 years, Math Analysis for 18 years and Algebra 2 for 27 years.  In addition I've taught part time college Mathematics for 8 years at MSJC, 5 years at Victor Valley College and 1 year each at Merced College, Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.  I earned a BA in Mathematics at University of Northern Colorado and a MA in Mathematics at Cal State San Bernardino.  I have two adult daughters.  My oldest is a 1st grade teacher in Moreno Valley and my youngest a nurse in Menifee.  My long time wife passed away a few years ago from breast cancer.  I now live with my life partner Jolaine in Murrieta, who is an Elementary Teacher taking a year off from the classroom.  We enjoy camping in our 4x4 RV in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the summer and the desert in the fall, winter and spring.  We usually camp alone off 4x4 roads and explore the region we are camping in by foot.  We also love to dance, body surf and walk the beach.  If this was a normal year we would attend several outdoor music festivals and dance the day and night away.  I still enjoy listening to the classic rock, funk and disco that I grew up on and recently have discovered EDM, chill and deep house music and funky hip hop like Dr Dre.  I enjoy reading fantasy books like Harry Potter and enjoy movies and both playing and watching sports.  My favorite sports teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, whom my grandfather played for, the Clippers and the Angels.  I currently do not coach any sports, but I have been a varsity head coach for girls basketball and both boys and girls soccer at previous high schools I've taught at.  I was raised just outside Philadelphia by my grandparents.  While this will not be a normal year, I am committed to helping you succeed and learn mathematics, while minimizing stress and hassle as much as possible.  If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please contact me through Canvas or school email.  Together we can do this!
